Fltr Beauty is your local skincare option in 2020

One of the many things I’ve learned from watching too much Kdrama is taking good care of my skin. For a brief period during the lockdown that I stopped my skincare routine, I felt like my skin was building grudges on me, lol! Anyway, I just knew I had to start over so I took refuge in Instagram and online beauty stores for new products to try. In my persistent search for local products that are worthy of my time and money, I stumbled upon Fltr Beauty.
Fltr Beauty Brightening Set
Fltr is a Filipino brand whose products range from skincare to makeup, including solid scents. What has drawn me to it is the fact that it’s locally made, and the packaging is just too simple and minimalist, but elegant. It also doesn’t have flashy advertisements and I think that’s important – the product has to speak for itself. Later on, I’ve learned that the products are clean, meaning they only contain safe and non-toxic ingredients which is great for people who want to be cautious about the products they’re using. It’s also cruelty-free, something that more and more people tend to look for in their skincare and makeup brands these days. So when it said it offers “hardworking skincare”, I decided to get the brightening set as my own personal starter kit as my skin has been dull and eager to get soaked up with TLC goodness.
Girl On The Glow Brightening Face and Body Soap. As much as I want to say that I love this soap, there are times when my skin feels too tight (I remember in one of Michelle Phan’s videos, she said that when a cleanser makes your skin feel tight, that means the formula is too harsh for you). Thus, I do not use this on my face on a daily basis, but the rest of my skin loves it just as much.
Brighter Days Ahead Clarifying Facial Scrub. I love this product so much! First of all, it smells like marshmallows and effectively brings me back to the birthdays I’ve been to as a kid where I’ve hoarded hotdogs and marshmallows on sticks. It has lemon and witch hazel, some of the known agents to reveal clear and glowing skin. The scrubbing beads are a little bit too rough on the skin though, which some people might find too harsh and abrasive, but for me, it’s just perfect. I really feel like the dead skin cells and other grime on my face are completely removed. I use this 2-3 times a week, or when I feel like smelling marshmallows, lol!
The Glow Up Brightening Facial Oil. I used to shy away from face oils because I was under the impression that they would make my skin oily and feel sticky, but this changed the game. This facial oil has become my top favorite – it moisturizes my skin and leaves that bright glow that I want to achieve so bad. It has argan oil, rosehip oil, carrot oil, and lavender, and 2-3 drops of this wonderful formula is enough to make me glow.
Gotta Bounce Luxe Deep Moisturizing Cream. This moisturizer smells floral, again, another childhood reminder (when my cousins and I would offer flowers to Virgin Mary in May). It leaves my skin soft and bouncy, thus being true to its name. It also has SPF 50 which is perfect, since I am staying indoors the entire day every day, I believe that should be enough? I just hit-panned on this so I am thinking of buying another pot.
I incorporated these products in my morning rituals (I use a different set of products at night), and I’ve been using them for a month or so now. My morning skincare has become one of the things I’m looking forward to in the morning alongside my coffee. Strangely, I do not miss my makeup that much anymore. If it’s because I don’t go out these days that I don’t need makeup or it’s because I am already glowing with my bare face, I don’t know, but it’s totally a good thing. I am thinking of trying some more of Fltr beauty products and see if all of them are really “hardworking” :D. So yeah, I guess you should try it too.
But remember, happy girls are the prettiest so always have a reason to smile every day! <3
Stay sane, lovelies! <3
